OWI leads police to meth lab in Albia, IowaAlbia, Iowa police officer Joe Worth made what he thought was a relatively routine traffic stop in the early hours of New Years Day, thinking he would be taking a woman into the Iowa police station on drunk driving charge.
However, that OWI arrest turned into a significant bust for the manufacture of methamphetamine within the Albia, Iowa city limits. After Worth noticed possible drug paraphernalia inside a car driven by Terri Darling, he called for assistance and Iowa police found methamphetamine in the car along with the drug paraphernalia.
That led to a search warrant at a residence owned by Gary Stansbeary located at 216 S. Clinton St. in Albia, Iowa. The two and a half story house is within a half block of Bowman-Nordstrom Funeral Home, Falvey Lumber, Peoples State Bank Drive-In and the Albia Head Start. The house is located one block south of the square on Clinton.
The Albia Police Department, along with the help of the Southeast Iowa Drug Task Force, conducted a search and it didn’t take long for police to discover what they believed to be an active meth lab on the top floor of the house. Iowa police arrested Gary Stansbeary, his brother, Darrell Wayne Stansberry, of Fort Madison and Terri Darling, of Fort Madison. Drug Rehab by County
